Doesn't it seem that cathedrals have a certain kind of sound to them? It is kind of a reverent echo of sounds, steps, voices. We walked inside the church ...you can see the Christus from outside and across the street. We walked down the center aisle drinking up the beauty of each sculpture and then sat down in a pew. Suddenly the organ rang out and echoed through the great hall. The recital went on for several minutes and then silence again. It was awesome.

P-Day!
Thanks to Lia, we realized that we are indeed within walking distance from several really cool places, one of which is the Church of our Lady. The temperature is still in the 50-'s - which is unusual for Copenhagen at this time of year. We wore our light jackets and I carried my Mary Poppins umbrella - which by the way kept it from raining. There were a lot of pedestrians and bicyclists out, probably because it is so nice.

How beautiful - and wonderful. I'm sure those members gave their all to build such a beautiful church and all the statues - just as our members sacrificed to build the early temples. Enjoy whatever "P" days you get. We had 2 half days our whole mission - but it was all good. Love reading your posts. Keep up the good work.
ReplyDeleteIf you were in Boulder Creek Stake -it is official that you are "Gilbert worthy". They got the letter with all of the stakes listed on Friday and Sis. Hatch shared with us during the 2nd shift prep. meeting - but nothing was shared Fri. night or all day today. Who knows?? Thurs/Fri 1st shift (Bro & Sis) got changed and Sat. mid. got changed. A VERY young gal is their coordinator. I think she will be good though. It was a little hectic today during 2nd shift - although it wasn't as busy as usual. 1st & 3rd were not as busy as usual either. Actually - it has been pretty slow the past 2 weeks - all the way around. Love & Prayers, Judy
Sorry to hear it is slow....a sad thing just before 2 new ones open nearby! It is exciting to be Gilbert-worthy. I'll look forward to the day I can see it in person. Thanks so much for the news.
