Another Beautiful Sunday!

My apologies to you for some misinformation.  I told you that we were having a fireside with S. Michael Wilcox.  He would have been awesome.  Our speaker tonight was Brad Wilcox.  He was in Sweden last week to help with EFY.  He was incredible.

Our stake center is being renovated and will not be finished before 2015.  In the meantime, we make do.  The fireside was held in a church very close to the temple and to the center.  It was to begin at 7 p.m.. and by 6:45 it was full to overflowing.  People were sitting outside the chapel in the foyers and downstairs in the overflow rooms where it is piped in.  We had nearly 75 respond on facebook that they would attend.  The entire stake was also invited so there were many who came to hear Brother Wilcox.

The temperature got up into the 70's and the humidity was high, so it was very hot in the building that doesn't have air conditioning.  The windows were open and there were a few little fans around....otherwise everyone was fanning themselves.

One of our YSAs played a piano solo that was soothing and beautiful.  We heard from other YSAs who had been at EFY as counselors, and Brother Wilcox spoke.  His message was inspiring....about why we believe in Jesus Christ.... he started with a question....."Why do we believe in Jesus Christ?"

He proceeded to answer it, and he was funny, enjoyable to listen to and spiritual.  I think everyone felt amply rewarded for being there.

Our YSAs were there in great numbers and it was sooo good to see them again.  Last week seemed like a very long week without so many of them.  They all came back worn out from all the work, but exhilarated by the gospel and the many strengthening talks and events.  These are truly great activities for everyone who participates.

Brother Wilcox gave a dynamite talk this evening, and then sat down.  The closing song and prayer were given, and then when Brother Wilcox stood to leave, the congregation began singing "God Be With You Til We Meet Again."  It brought the tears.

Another beautiful Sunday!

  1. What a beautiful ending to a Sabbath day. I'd like to know what was funny when he answered the "Why we believe in Jesus Christ" question.
I can just hear all of your saints singing as Bro. Wilcox stood to leave. I know the whole building and everyone in it were filled with the Spirit. L&P
