Comparison shopping has never been my idea of fun, but it was almost enjoyable today.
We set out on foot to check things out for the weekend meals we will be serving. The meals should be simple, but shopping is not.
We get fliers from various stores, but not all of them, and so sometimes we let our feet do the walking to find the deals. I don't mind that much....it is good for us. It is interesting that everywhere we looked, the buns will cost at least twice as much as the hot dog meat. The condiments are another story and a big expense, but they really make the hot dog a better meal.
We have a meeting at 1, then at 4 we'll watch the women's broadcast and at 6, we will watch the Saturday morning session live. Than we will have dinner.
Because of budget cuts, we decided not to have desserts, but for conference weekend, I think something sweet is in order! Tomorrow night, a hot pizzookie with vanilla ice cream...small servings. Sunday evening we will have chocolate eclair cake.
Elder and Sister Blackham arrived this morning for today and tomorrow. They have friends who are visiting and spent the day with them. We visited with them in the evening catching up on all the news of the area where they are serving, and met their friends.
They will leave in the morning to do some more sightseeing and then return to their home in Odense. They take care of the YSA center there. They have already been here 3 months!
Tomorrow will be a nice day, but probably a long one....so bed is calling.
Wow! Another busy - BUSY day! Comparison shopping is not supposed to be fun. It is supposed to be a challenge! The Lord will help you - even if it is through friends and family who give you good ideas. L&P
