Reconnected!

How quickly I take for granted such complex and undeserved and wonderful electronic devices.  We have been without the internet now for four days both at home and at the center.  That meant I couldn't write emails, couldn't read emails, could ask google any one of a billion questions, couldn't check the weather, ask for measurement conversions or anything else.

As of today, we now have internet in both....and I am very grateful.

Both little girls had a much better day and went to bed without a peep of complaint.  I think they were very tired.  Little Rebekah has had a little bit of an upset stomach, but has been good-natured and patient.  Eliza is warming up to us....talking to us, bringing us little items to share and letting us help her with things.

Lia, Eliza and I walked to a nearby playground to let her run around a little bit.  It was cute to watch her play in the sand and run from one thing to the next.  I am sure she enjoyed it too.

The whole of the city was alive tonight with "Culture Night."  Many places had special exhibits or hands-on-type of activities for people of all ages.  Lia, Peter and the girls and I ventured out into Copenhagen.  There were throngs of people everywhere we went, lines of individuals waiting to go inside of museums and office buildings, restaurants and public buildings.  It is kind of a night when the city puts on its best face for the populace.

It has been a cool day but not unpleasant by any means.  We walked around among the crowds but we didn't buy the general ticket that got you into any place you chose.  It seemed nicest to just wander.  There was much excitement and with the nip in the air, it reminded me of good things back home, but on a much larger scale.  Fall is definitely here.

Lia and I had more time to visit today and that has been a joy.  Before we got home, we took a detour to a grocery store to buy a few things for the weekend, and that is always an fun experience for someone who is new in a country.

We ended the day with ....Danish pastry!

  1. I was getting a bit worried that Danish Pastry might feel neglected. Glad to hear that you all partook. What cute pictures. A little different from our play grounds. You make Denmark sound so amazing - especially Copenhagen. Enjoy your family! L&P
