The internet connection in the apartment is completely erratic and will likely cut me off before I have written much, so I will be brief tonight and perhaps enlarge on the post later in the week. The whole building was switched to a new cable company two weeks ago, and we have had nothing but trouble ever since. But they said all would be well by the 19th...so we will see.
SK gave a talk in Sacrament meeting today - in Danish! He translated it to English for me and I thought it was awesome. Several members of the branch complimented him, both on the content of the talk and on his Danish. The gist of the talk was in D&C 111. SK's application was that we all have follies...or weaknesses and that in all of our relationships love and patience is vital.
On this day Erin also gave a talk in Gilbert! She spoke about miracles for those who have eyes to see and ears to hear and hearts that understand. I read the talk and felt much uplifted and inspired to watch for the daily miracles that occur.
December is roaring past.....hope you all enjoy the coming two weeks. Although always crammed full, it is still the most beautiful time of the year!
And Erin's talk was fabulous! She did an excellent job! And there were several times where I could see a little of you in her face. (I have been with her before when someone will ask if she is your daughter!) I was mesmerized with her talk! Wish I could have recorded it for you. I recorded Lauren's for you last week but it won't send to you. :(
ReplyDeleteYou are a jewel of a friend and I love you! If anyone ever sees even a little of me in Erin, I am utterly delighted and flattered.
DeleteSounds like Stan's talk was amazing. I have become VERY thankful for angels (in the form of sr. missionary couples) this week.
ReplyDeleteOur grandson (in San Salvador) got parasites + c-diff - and another infection and has lost a LOT of weight. None the less - he went to the temple Tues. with his group and said it was a horrible experience - but did get through it. Then Wed. he was put onto a plane - by himself we assume (because he didn't mention anyone else) and was sent to Belise. He was met by a sr. couple - and she immediately knew something was wrong - had her husband talk to Trevor - and then they took him to a gastroenterologist - who did all the tests and put him on medication - then - they took him to the grocery store and bought him $120 worth of groceries. He is with a companion that he says is great - and the zone leader is his first trainer. Trevor had a lot of respect for him. Heavenly Father does watch over his missionaries! He definitely sent Trevor a couple who had eyes to see and hearts to understand.
I'm sure you would do the same for any of your young people that you watch over.
As always - L&P
Bless that kind couple and bless Trevor! I know the prayers said on behalf of the missionaries all over the world are heard and answered. He needed extra this week...and thank heavens good people were there to help.
DeleteLove to you.
