We Spent time at the center assembling lasagna and making
cream puff shells for the dinner on Thursday.
It was much easier than it would have been normally because we had
spaghetti sauce in the freezer from 6 weeks ago.
We came back to the apartment and put up some Christmas
decorations and listened to Christmas music.
I love Christmas time. Then I
crashed. Maybe it is the very short
days, but I was tired!
We have had no internet access all day, and I am unsure when
it will be restored. It is amazing to me
how quickly I have become so “connected.”
It is quite unsettling NOT to be able to get on the internet and ask
questions, research a subject or just email someone.
By the way, one thing I did not write about on Tuesday night
was the challenge President Sederholm gave the missionaries at the zone
conference. He talked at length about
doing what Christ would do. He has asked
the missionaries to do missionary work on Christmas day. He was tender with them….he asked what their
first thought was when they heard that.
Responses: “Who will open the
door to us on Christmas?” “It’s a
holiday!” and a few others. He reacted to those with the truth and with
kindness.
I looked at all those young people who sat there without
complaint yet looking kind of serious. I
know that they probably will all be out tracting on Christmas day. I pray that they will feel the Lord’s
choicest blessings for their sacrifice.
Janis's writings are MUCH more interesting than Stan's. Oh well.
ReplyDeleteAnd your comments are fun....even on SKs short posts!
DeleteI'm very curious to see what the missionaries say about Christmas Day! President Sederholm must have a good reason for it.
ReplyDeleteSacrifice brings forth blessings. I am sure the whole mission will reap blessings for their obedience. And who knows who might respond to two young missionaries at their door on Christmas?
