Not so Typical Sunday in Sweden

As I write, SK is pickling himself. ....in a bathtub.  At our home in Gilbert, we have a large deep bathtub.  He always loved to soak after working hard.  It has now been 17 months since he has been able to do that, and sInce the hotel we are staying in has a tub, he is taking advantage.  Tomorrow we will return to Copenhagen, our apartment and our shower.

I have long thought that the actress Carol Channing (Thoroughly Modern Millie - the zany aunt/mom) has a unique and delightful voice, but I have never wanted to sound like her....but today I do.  I think I have a small case of the flu.  I spent the night alternately shivering and burning up. I have a cough and looking on the bright side....a good round of coughing is as good as a dozen sit-ups.

SK went to church and didn't even use the translator services.  He is quite amazing.....the two languages are similar, but even native Danes don't always understand Swedish.

It is nice that all I have to do tomorrow is sit in the car.  I may have to skip Family Home Evening.  We'll see how it goes.

The sickness may have something to do with my thinking that Sweden is far colder and more dismal than I have ever felt in Denmark.    It has been snowing throughout the day, and I don't believe that the sun has shown its face at all.

Even though I missed church, it has been a sweet day.  I have read and rested, and am looking forward to the week ahead.

  1. Must have caught the same bug - about the same time. Do bugs travel through the internet? I did go to church - but sat alone - and was careful to stay a distance from my Primary kid - although two of them had symptoms. The temple opens this week - so hope both of us get better. The stuff that has been going around here has lasted 3-5 week - I am told. Hope you will be able to do FHE tomorrow - but don't stress over it. They will understand. That soak in the tub sounds GOOD! Go do it! L&P

    1. I HAVE heard of bugs that travel through the internet, but I don't think that is what you are talking about! But 3 - 5 weeks sounds way too long for anyone to be sick. I hope you can throw it off sooner than that....and I hope you will be feeling a lot better by the time you need to go back to the temple. L&P

    1. Thank you my dear.....I haven't gotten sick of cold gray days, and I don't think I will ever get sick of clear blue skies either! But variety is nice.
