The Richness of His Blessings....

The high was 54 degrees today....which means a light coat and scarf were quite adequate....if the sun is shining, and it was.

We clipped a newspaper article which told about 5 of the most beautiful streets in Copenhagen.  Today we set out to explore one of them.  "Reputed to be one of the oldest streets in the city, it is charming."  As it turned out, it was within just a few blocks of our center.  We turned down the street expecting to be transported to another place and time.  To us, ignorant foreigners, it looked like so many other streets here....beautiful.. We snapped some pictures, then explored the area a little more before heading home with a stop at a grocery store on the way home.

The Saturday night meeting of Stake Conference was held tonight -- in the newly remodeled stake center.  It has been closed for renovations now since December of 2013.  It is a grand building...very spacious.  The remodeling was excellent.  I didn't see the kitchen yet, but am confident that any improvement there was a good thing.  I believe they gutted it and put in an all new kitchen.

Emilie...our young convert of about a year and a half - spoke.  She continues to amaze me.  She spoke like someone who had grown up in church giving talks on a regular basis.  She is poised and articulate and a bright shining young woman.

Do you remember Leah?  She is now on a mission in Scotland, and was our center co-chair with Morten for nearly a year before she left.  We absolutely loved her.  Her brother Stephen just finished his mission in the Alpine German mission, and he spoke at the meeting.  He is tall and masculine and handsome, and Leah is tall and slim and feminine, but they look so much alike....both so cute.  There were several other talks and a musical number - all excellent, including one from our stake president.

Our general authority - I am so sorry, but I never caught his name - gave a beautiful talk.  I wrote notes as fast as I could, but finally gave up...I just wanted to sit and listen.  It was a talk about the gospel in its purest and simplest sense....bringing people to Christ.

He said we do that by being patient, kind, and loving.  He gave so many good examples about how we treat each other at church, in our neighborhoods and in our families.  I was very inspired.  You get the condensed version that definitely loses something in translation....but trust me....it was very good.

We had two young men attending who are being taught by the missionaries.  They are both really sharp young Danes.  I think they enjoyed it.  It is always so fun to have someone attend who is new and who feels the beauty of the spirit whispering truths.

We are still basking in gratitude for the Lord's blessings for Erin.  And it sounds like angels have been attending her....her doctors and others who have assisted with her surgery.  And there are definitely angels who are looking after her now....dear friends and ward members and  neighbors.  How grateful I am for all of that....

  1. Don't know how you are going to handle leaving Denmark- but I will not handle it very well - not being able to read of your adventures, the goodness of your young people, the strength of the members there and the beauties you describe so often.
Why don't you "re-up" like we do at the temple? (Had a sweet experience today.)
Your family would be the only thing keeping you from coming home. I am so glad that Erin is being bless with such good help. L&P

  2. If our family lived here, we would re-up in a heartbeat. However, there is something going on with visas and 23 months is the limit. So even if circumstances were good for staying, we wouldn't be able to do it. But I am so glad that you enjoy our adventures...they seem mundane for reading, but I am loving them. I am looking forward to hearing some of your wonderful temple stories. L&P
