The wind has blown all day. It was a warm day, but that breeze is nearly always cool and it was especially so today. If you were to stand out in the sun, it would take no time at all to begin to melt. But when the oh-so lovely cool breeze wafts through your clothes, it makes it absolutely divine.
We got a lot done today....which really made me happy. It will help us next week, more than I can say. We can concentrate on the people we came to serve, and finish up the packing. We will close the door on this apartment at 4 a.m. on Saturday morning the 29th.
The apartment looks so nice....I have washed walls and even moved furniture around. We have had all the windows open today, and the breezes blowing through have delighted me.....the sounds and the smells of the great outdoors are soothing.
Carolyn, Stan's sister, encouraged me to take pictures of everything. So I took a video of everything....and I will take still shots tomorrow.
This evening, Doris and Michael, Alejandra and Claus came. I had everything ready.....cookies, cake, and tarts. We also served cheese and rye crackers....a classic dessert, plus fresh fruit. Doris and Michael arrived first. They brought chocolates and beautiful red roses. Next, Alejandra and Claus came bearing beautiful red flowers and chocolate. It is a charming tradition.
We sat around and visited for over 3 hours, and I enjoyed it immensely. Claus and Michael seem to have a lot in common. And Doris and Alejandra got along beautifully. I hope they become friends. I loved sitting there hearing everyone converse in Spanish and Danish and English.
Doris wants to meet me for a hot chocolate next week, and while we have very little time open, I will make it a priority. I truly love her, and am so grateful that she is doing well. She is happy, and has gone back to work part time.
They have set a date February 6 to get married....in Peru. That will be wonderful for them.
I wonder what SK and I will be doing on Febraury 6, 2016.
What a truly lovely day. Glad to hear that Doris is doing well. You have made a dear friend - who will be open to hearing the gospel message at some point.
ReplyDeleteYou might just find yourselves in Peru on that special wedding day. L&P
It was so very nice. Yes...she is dear. Peru would be exciting, but both Doris and Michael talked about a honeymoon trip to the states, with a possible stop in Arizona. That would be truly wonderful. L&P
