They were both dressed in missionary attire, despite the fact that Monday is P-Day. They looked lovely. The visit was short because there was little that needed attention. We could only say, "It looks wonderful....keep up the good work."
Next we visited an older apartment in another town that the missionaries have used for years. The elders there were cute, and like the sisters, dressed in regulation missionary attire. Besides keeping up the inside of the apartment, they have a large back yard that is overgrown with weeds, and I am sure that they would like to get out there and cut them down, and clean out the yard. That isn't on their agenda, but we will see what the president says. Elders Amos and Beck were fun to visit.
The last visit of the day....and the last missionary apartment inspection (for us) was to an upper story in Soeborg to see Sisters VanOrden and Reed also had little that needed to be done, and we enjoyed visiting with them.
When you go into someone's living quarters, you can begin to know them a little better. We have enjoyed doing those inspections very much. After doing these inspections, I think I have a good idea what needs to happen with helping all of the young people be better housekeepers. I iwould love to be able to implement the ideas and see how well they succeed.
In the early afternoon we went to the center. Morten came early....we enjoy him so much. We talked for awhile, and then Sarah L came....another cute young woman who is a returned missionary. She made the refreshments - which were served after Family Home Evening. It was another night the ones who were there were amply rewarded. We had small numbers but those who were there seemed to enjoy the evening.
We had a great message and a good activity and then a lot of conversations. The last ones to leave tonight said such kind things to us that it brought a few tears. We love them, and are grateful that they seem to enjoy us.
As we walked to our apartment, SK said, "It is difficult to think that in less than two weeks, this will all be over." And he gestured around us to the city.
It is a hard one to wrap my mind around. But I can't think about that right now. I'll just take care of what needs to be done now, and slowly, we will clear our master list of tasks.
Some of these missionaries could probably give their families lessons in orderly houses. They all look so good. You didn't say what the refreshments were - but I'm sure they were good - as usual. Good day to be in the service of the Lord! L&P
ReplyDeleteYes....the refreshments were quite good, as always. When I get home to Arizona, I am just going to have to quit with all the refreshments!!!!! L&P
