Looking Ahead and Calendaring

Well!  Ask me if I feel embarrassed by that post last night.  I did not read it again until just now.  I sat here at the computer late last night....and I kept falling asleep....sitting up!  I jolted awake a few times, reread what I had written and added to it.

I don't know how I ended the post....or how I even managed to get the pictures on, but you have my humble apologies for a  nonsensical finish line.

This day was another productive day, although my energy is flagging.  We got a fair amount done here at the apartment, and then headed out in the car to run a few errands.  We turned in all of our bottles and cans....which is always a funny experience with SK.  We got nearly $20 back!....which we usually use for the center.  But none of the cans were from the center this time, so we used it on groceries for us.

We also picked up some groceries for refreshments this evening.  One of our stops was IKEA...a place I didn't care for in the States.  I must confess that although I don't like the "herd them through like cattle and make them walk by every product in the warehouse" mentality, I love IKEA and have found several products that I  can't live without.  So I am hoping the IKEA in Tempe will be carrying them.

They had large discs of knakkebrod from Sweden....a very flat dark rye cracker that is about the size of a pizza.  Sebastian, who is from Sweden told us that it is his favorite.  So we bought 2 packages. At the grocery store, we picked up red, orange, yellow and green peppers.....cucumbers.....different kinds of cheeses and cream cheese.  It may sound awful to you, but it is a refreshing and tasty treat.

We went to the center early in the afternoon, where I worked on financial reports a .  I will turn those in very soon.

I had delightful visits with Anne Marie and a few others.  SK spent awhile talking with David and Morten...two young men that make him laugh and smile.

SK and I are spending more time than usual "planning."  We need to utilize every minute of every day.....and we don't want to take a chance on missing anything.  So we plan.

A man is coming to wash the windows tomorrow!  I can hardly wait.  I have been looking out of those upper story windows for nearly 23 months and I have longed to get them clean....but  we don't own a ladder, and even if we did, I am not sure it would be a healthy thing to do.  So it will get done, and then it will be sheer joy to sit in the loft and look out over the lake....for another 3 weeks.

That is....if we are at home.

  1. I think that you'll sleep for a week once you get home! If I'm close to IKEA in the next few weeks I'll wander in and look for the rye crackers!

    1. Wouldn't it be wonderful if they had them? They are very tasty.....not like a Danish pastry....but a passable cracker.

  2. You made good sense to me! Anyway - you do wear down. Coming home will be exhausting - then you will have family and friends to visit with - and a report to get ready. You'll have so much to share - and so little time. Enjoy your windows while you can - and send your guy over to do mine. The great grands did a grand job on them. L&P

  3. I edited it! It's a good thing you didn't see the original post....it was wacky. While I absolutely love this place, I'm thinking I will rest when I get to Gilbert....but what you say does sound a little tiring.
The windows are wonderful!!!! He could get your done lickety-split. I already told him to come to Gilbert....so I'll have to let him know he would have 2 customers!
