Love is in the Air

The sun is slowly sinking  against a dusky blue sky....it is reflecting blindingly gold in the windows across the lake.  There is a hush that comes with this time of day.  I am looking out of our clean windows (yes!) at the lake path....still well-traveled, the gently lapping waves, and the lovers sitting on the bench looking out over the water.  Her head is resting on his shoulder and they are silhouetted against the gleaming lake.  It completes the scene.

Besides spending a crazy amount of time on the phone making missionary apartment inspection appointments, SK worked in the temple.  I have been writing notes and letters, and still doing some minor packing.  We have some packages ready to ship to Gilbert....stuff mostly, but meaningful to us ..and worth the extra cost to send home.

When all is said and done, the stuff doesn't matter much, but there are several things that will hang on the walls of our home, or sit on a shelf somewhere, and will bring to mind these days here in this magical kingdom.

We went to Cecilie's wedding reception in the afternoon.  We usually make sure we know what is happening before we attend something like this, but today we didn't check the invitation.  We sauntered in 20 minutes after it began.....A full-scale program.  We felt bad to be so ignorant.   We enjoyed the rest of the program though, as well as visiting with everyone.

Cecilie is a beautiful tall young blonde who is vivacious, spiritual, missionary-minded, cheerful, bright, witty, funny.....and on and on.  At one time or another, probably every young man within ten miles of her has been in love with her - if only for a moment or two.  She is awesome.  So I know the young man she married has to be incredible..  He seems very nice, and as you can see from the picture....enjoys being a clown too.

One of the great bishops here mentioned to us one day that when he and his wife grow up they want to go on a mission like ours....because every time they see us, it is at a party.

We have laughed and laughed about that, because it is true....we attend a lot of open houses, farewells, and homecomings....and along the way - receptions.  We are not exactly social butterflies, and left to our own devices at home in Gilbert, would probably stay home most evenings, but we have enjoyed getting to know everyone better at those gatherings.  It is a little more relaxed and easy to visit.
That very handsome young man closest to the front is Morten, our YSA President/Chairman.  We adore him.  He is so funny....so cute...so nice.  I think a lot of girls like him, but so far he hasn't found The One.

But it is getting increasingly difficult to even think about losing weight!!!!!!

SK is giving the lesson in priesthood tomorrow, and is fretting about it.  That is because he will give it in Danish....and he has a reputation to live up to.  Danes are usually impressed that he speaks and understands so well.  So, he works hard to speak properly.

And the clock is ticking.

Three weeks from today..........
