With another day of packing, sorting, organizing and cleaning tucked behind me, I am happy to report that I am feeling good about what has been done. I don't quite dare say that I am on schedule, but I think I am.
All signs of the magnificent rainstorm last night were gone this morning. The world outside our windows was fresh and clean. Everything was sparkling in the sun. And the rest of the day has been just as beautiful.
In the evening, we went to dinner with our fairy-tale princess and prince. It was at their home, and they asked Sister Hamblin and us to join them. They grilled chicken and vegetables to perfection. We could smell it coming up the walk to their house.
We all stood outside on their deck while Sebastian finished up the cooking, and then we all sat down together. Everything was absolutely excellent.
We have known them the entire time we have been here in Denmark. And the more we get to know them, the more amazing we think they are. SK and I are feeling progressively worse about the thought that we may not see them again. They are both very missionary-minded and so grateful to have the gospel in their lives.
If wards all over the world were populated with people like Christena and Sebastian, the church would be growing by leaps and bounds, and be full of happy and productive individuals.
Our association with them over these past years has been choice, and has enriched our life tremendously.
Looks and sounds scrumptious! They are an amazing couple - and evidently very capable to have children under foot and host/hostess people for dinner. I'm sure their feelings for you are mutual. You will miss them - but thanks to an electronic world - we are able to keep in touch more readily - and knowing you - you will do that. So glad you are on schedule and had such a good day. L&P
ReplyDeleteYou are right....it is so easy to stay in touch....and when you can talk to and see someone halfway round the world...for free!....then it is easy to be close (in spirit). L&P
DeleteOh, that makes me sad to think of you never seeing them again, either! We had one meal with them and I fell in love with their whole family. The fairy tale princess is most definitely a kindred spirit! She told me that they were planning on coming to the states at some point, though, so they surely will come visit us!!
ReplyDeleteI so hope that we will see them again....and Arizona would be great fun.
