Sliding Forward at Breakneck Speed.....

That bed felt so good and it was hard to crawl out this morning.  But it was worth it.  We were back to our little branch for church this morning.  There were about 40 of us there, with the usual 9 missionaries.  But every single one is dear and it was good to be among them.

Fast and testimony meeting in our branch is always always always a good experience.  Our branch president started things out by sharing some experiences he has had with colleagues he has known for a long time.  Some of them are struggling through major life challenges.  He mentioned how even if you didn't believe the precepts of the gospel, living them brings great joy.  But he went on to say that living them because you believe them gives peace, comfort, and deep and long-lasting joy.

The YSA Sunday School class was also very good....Emma, our returned missionary taught...and did a great job.  Relief Society was about the influence of women, and I enjoyed it immensely.

We had the young elders over for dinner.  They are both so fun....both very dedicated and eager to do the work.  One of them has only been here for 6 weeks, yet got up and bore his testimony in sacrament meeting....in Danish!  He is a little discouraged with himself because he thinks he ought to be doing better, but he is doing remarkably well.

We enjoyed their message.....and their company and their challenge to us to do better. You just have to love those guys.

We spent a couple of hours with Elder and Sister Thorne, and Sister Hamblin....I do believe SK was the winner at Nines tonight.

I have big plans for tomorrow....I hope I can get all those things accomplished.  Our calendar for August is beginning to fill up, and we haven't scheduled our missionary apartment inspections as yet.

This last month is going to be a roller coaster ride!

  1. Amen to the roller coaster. That seems like just last year for us - but it was over 23 years ago. Our friends from there are still dear. You have done much - and I know you will work hard this last month to do all that is needed. Hang on! L&P
